🎶 Ryan Stevenson — A Voice for the Valley and the Victory 🎶

Before the world knew him as the voice behind Eye of the Storm, Ryan Stevenson was a small‑town kid from Bonanza, Oregon, raised on hymns and the prayers of a mother who believed God had a calling on his life. He didn’t set out to be a chart‑topping artist — for seven years, he worked as a paramedic, holding broken lives in his hands, often in their most desperate moments. Those long nights on the road, the quiet prayers whispered in ambulances, and the weight of seeing both tragedy and resilience up close shaped the way he writes and sings today.

When Ryan lost his mother to cancer in 2009, her words stayed with him: “It’s okay to cry, to grieve, to break apart — God can handle it.” A decade later, those words became the heart of his song When We Fall Apart. That’s the kind of artist he is — one who doesn’t just write lyrics, but pours lived experience into melodies that meet people where they are.

For me, Eye of the Storm has been more than a song — it’s been an anchor. In seasons when the waves were high and the future uncertain, it reminded me of Psalm 46:1, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever‑present help in trouble.” It’s the kind of truth you cling to when the wind is howling and you can’t see the shoreline.

Then there’s Amadeo (Still My God) — a declaration I’ve needed in my own valleys. It’s easy to praise when the sun is shining, but this song taught me to lift my hands even when the answers don’t come, echoing Habakkuk 3:17‑18: “Though the fig tree does not bud… yet I will rejoice in the Lord.”

His latest album, Valley Lows, Mountain Highs, feels like a map of the Christian walk — the dips where faith is tested, the climbs where perseverance is forged, and the summits where you can finally see how far God has brought you. Tracks like Just As You Are remind me that I don’t have to clean myself up before coming to Him, while Sails speaks to the surrender of letting His Spirit carry me where I need to go.

Ryan Stevenson’s music has walked with me through storms of trouble, lifted me when I was weary, and reminded me that the same God who meets us in the valley is the One who leads us to the victory. His songs are more than melodies — they’re mile markers on the journey, pointing back to the faithfulness of the One who never leaves.

And maybe that’s why his voice resonates so deeply — because it’s not just singing about hope, it’s singing from it.
