Share Worthy Song — Jamie Kimmett “Prize Worth Fighting For”

Anthem of Endurance and Eternal Hope 

Some songs meet you in the middle of your story — right where the questions are loudest and the road feels longest. “Prize Worth Fighting For” by Jamie Kimmett is one of those songs for me.

Jamie’s journey to this anthem wasn’t easy. Born and raised in Scotland, he grew up far from the Nashville scene, chasing a pop career in London before God radically redirected his path. After surrendering his life to Christ, he moved to the U.S. to pursue music that would point people to Jesus. But even then, the road was marked by struggle — seasons of doubt, loneliness, and wondering if the calling was worth the cost.

It was in one of those seasons that “Prize Worth Fighting For” was born. Jamie has shared that the song came from a place of wrestling — tempted to give up, yet reminded that the ultimate prize isn’t success, comfort, or applause. It’s Jesus Himself. His love. His grace. His promise of life eternal.

That’s why Philippians 3:14 runs through every note: “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” This isn’t just a lyric — it’s a lifeline. And when the nights feel long, I also hold onto Galatians 6:9: “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

I’ve walked through my own nights where faith felt fragile, where anxiety and brokenness made me wonder if I could keep going. I’ve stared at the ceiling in the dark, asking God if I’d ever feel whole again. And then I remembered the cross. I remembered the empty tomb. And I remembered that the fight is worth it — because the reward is Him.
