🛡️ Shelter – Carrollton | Melodies of Mercy

A Song of Refuge, A Story of Redemption

Carrollton didn’t write Shelter just to comfort — they wrote it to declare a promise. As lead singer Justin Mosteller shared, the band grew up singing hymns like “Standing on the Promises of God,” but as their faith deepened, they began asking, “What are those promises I’m standing on? What does it mean to trust in the Lord?” That search led them to Psalm 91: “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” They found a God who is both mighty and near — a fortress in the storm and a shelter in the silence. That’s what Shelter proclaims: “No matter where I’m at, no matter what I face, I can trust in a God who is all-powerful, like a mighty fortress, and a God who is near like a shelter.”

I know that storm. I’ve lived it. Years ago, I lost everything — my family, my freedom, my sense of self. I made choices that led me to prison, and for a long time, I believed I was beyond redemption. But in that cell, someone handed me a Bible. And in that moment, God didn’t just offer forgiveness — He offered shelter. Psalm 32:7 says, “You are my hiding place; You will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.” That’s the heartbeat of this site. GoodChristianMusic.com isn’t just about songs — it’s about sanctuary. A place where broken stories meet breakthrough. Where music becomes ministry. Where the worst chapters of our lives are rewritten by grace.

If you’re feeling exposed, unwanted, or unsure of your worth — let this song remind you: you are not your past. You are not your shame. You are loved, forgiven, and safe in Him. “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” — Proverbs 18:10. Let Shelter wash over you. Let it be the soundtrack to your comeback. And if you’ve already found refuge in Christ — share this with someone who hasn’t. Be the shelter they need.
