The Call You Can’t Ignore
Some songs stir emotion. Others stir calling. “The Commission” by CAIN does both — and it doesn’t whisper. It reminds us that Jesus didn’t just rise from the grave; He handed us the Gospel and said, “Go.”
I know what it’s like to feel unqualified for that kind of mission. To look at my past and wonder if the dents and scars disqualify me. But Matthew 28:19–20 says, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations… And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” That’s not a suggestion for the flawless — it’s a command for the redeemed. Jesus didn’t pass the baton to the perfect. He gave it to the willing.
CAIN — the sibling trio from Alabama — didn’t start on worship stages. They started out playing in small-town bars and local venues before God redirected their path to worship. Their journey mirrors the truth of the Gospel: He doesn’t waste the road you’ve walked. He prepares the vessel for the work ahead. And when the time came, He put a new song in their mouths — one that carries His heartbeat: “Go tell the world about Me… I was dead, but now I live.”
For me, this isn’t just a track I play — it’s a mission statement. My website, my testimony, my outreach — it’s all part of the same Commission. And John 20:21 seals it: “As the Father has sent Me, I am sending you.” That’s not just for pastors or missionaries. That’s for you. That’s for me.
So here’s the truth — the world doesn’t just need another song in the background. It needs your voice in the foreground. Your story. Your testimony. Your obedience. Don’t wait for the perfect moment or the perfect version of yourself. The Commission is already in your hands.
Rise up. Step out. And carry the message forward — because someone’s waiting to hear what Jesus has done through you.
