Artist of the Week – Bodie  9/5/25

Some albums feel like playlists. Bodie’s debut full-length release, NO SKIPS, feels like a testimony. It’s not just a title—it’s a declaration. A reminder that when God writes your story, there are no wasted chapters. From grief to grace, heartbreak to healing, this album walks through the kind of moments most people would rather skip. But Bodie leans in. And in doing so, he invites us to do the same.

You might know Bodie from his breakout run on The Voice Season 22, where his powerhouse vocals and bold faith carried him to the finale. But his journey started long before the spotlight. Raised in a creative family, Bodie spent years grinding behind the scenes—editing videos, writing songs, and sustaining the dream through side hustles and prayer. After years of wrestling with identity and calling, Bodie had a pivotal moment: God made it clear that his music wasn’t just for mainstream success—it was for ministry. That shift led him to sign with Provident Entertainment and embrace his role as a Christian artist who refuses to play it safe. His sound blends pop, worship, hip-hop, and raw honesty. His message is simple and powerful: Jesus is still in the business of redemption.

Released September 5, 2025, NO SKIPS is a 10‑track journey that moves effortlessly from high‑energy anthems to intimate, soul‑searching moments. Bodie co‑produced the album alongside Nick Bays and Sajan Nauriyal, with songwriting contributions from Bobby Strand and others. The project is packed with emotional depth, genre‑blending energy, and spiritual clarity.

The album opens with “RIP,” a raw funeral for the old self. It’s not morbid—it’s liberating. For anyone who’s laid down shame, addiction, or regret, this song is a marker of resurrection. It echoes the truth of 2 Corinthians 5:17: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here.”

“whisper and the wind” is already making waves, climbing into the Top 10 on Billboard’s Christian Airplay chart and winning the grand prize in the International Songwriting Competition. It’s a song that feels like God’s voice cutting through the noise—gentle, persistent, and full of grace. It brings to mind 1 Kings 19:12, where Elijah hears God not in the fire or the earthquake, but in the whisper.

The title track “NO SKIPS” is a quiet powerhouse. It doesn’t shout—it speaks. It’s a prayer whispered in the middle of a storm, asking God not for shortcuts, but for meaning in every moment. It reminds us that the chapters we want to erase are often the ones that shape us most. James 1:2–3 says, “Consider it pure joy… whenever you face trials… because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.” This song lives in that truth.

Other tracks like “GOOD OLD DAYS” and “SAY SO” bring levity and joy, reminding us that God is present in the laughter too. “SAY SO” feels like Psalm 107 set to a beat: “Let the redeemed of the Lord say so.” These songs help us remember that celebration is part of the walk, too.

This album isn’t just for fans—it’s for the weary. For the ones still healing. Still hoping. Still holding on. Bodie’s music meets people in the mess and reminds them that God is in every frame—even the ones we thought we’d never survive. NO SKIPS is a call to live fully. To trust deeply. To walk with God through every valley and mountaintop. It’s not about perfection—it’s about presence. And it’s exactly the kind of music we need right now.
