Austin French – Good Christian Music Fan Page Feature

Austin French didn’t grow up in peace—he grew up in survival. His childhood was marked by fear, fractured family dynamics, and a deep distrust of the very faith he was surrounded by. Sundays were for pretending, but behind closed doors, everything was falling apart. At just eight years old, he told his mother, “I just don’t want to be hurt anymore.” That moment etched itself into his soul.

But God wasn’t done. At thirteen, Austin attended a church music camp hoping to impress girls with his guitar skills. Instead, he heard a message that pierced through the bitterness: “Don’t judge Jesus by the broken people He came to save.” That truth cracked something open. He didn’t just commit to music—he committed to Jesus. And he’s been writing songs for broken people ever since.

“Freedom Hymn” This debut single is more than a catchy chorus—it’s a declaration of deliverance. “This is my freedom hymn…” echoes the cry of Galatians 5:1: “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.” The song speaks to anyone who’s lived under the weight of shame, addiction, or fear. It’s not just about breaking chains—it’s about walking free.

“Rest for Your Soul” Written in the chaos of parenting three young kids, this song is a balm for the weary. Austin sings from exhaustion, but also from hope. “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28). That verse isn’t just quoted—it’s lived. This track reminds us that rest isn’t found in escape—it’s found in surrender.

“Why God” This one wrestles. It doesn’t offer easy answers—it asks hard questions. “Why God do people have to die?” echoes the cries of Job, David, and every heart that’s felt abandoned. But even in the questioning, there’s faith. Like Psalm 13:1–2, “How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever?” The song doesn’t resolve the tension—it invites God into it.

Austin French’s music is for the ones who’ve been burned by religion but still long for redemption. It’s for the ones who’ve lived through brokenness and are ready to believe that healing is possible. His voice carries the weight of someone who’s been there—and the joy of someone who’s come through.

So if you’ve been sleepwalking through faith, if you’ve been carrying burdens too heavy to name, let these songs speak. Let them stir something deeper. Let them remind you that Jesus doesn’t wait for perfection—He meets you in the mess.

The time is at hand. Wake up. Walk free. Rest well.
