Melodies of Mercy Feature — Jordan Feliz “Never Too Far Gone”

Grace That Finds You in the Dark

There was a time I believed I’d crossed the line for good — too broken, too stained, too lost to be loved again. But God didn’t see me that way. He saw a son worth saving. And in my lowest moment, He reached down, wrapped me in mercy, and whispered, “You’re never too far gone.”

Jordan Feliz — the Dove Award–winning singer-songwriter from Clovis, California — has a gift for blending soulful pop hooks with deep spiritual truth. Known for hits like The River and Glorify, his music often carries the heartbeat of redemption. “Never Too Far Gone”, from his debut album The River (2016), is one of his most personal songs, born out of his own journey of wrestling with God after loss and rediscovering the relentless nature of grace.

The track is a sonic embrace — upbeat yet tender, with a chorus that feels like open arms. Feliz has shared that the song was inspired in part by the birth of his daughter, a moment that deepened his understanding of unconditional love. That love, he realized, mirrors the way God sees us: not as our failures, but as His children.

Lyrically, “Never Too Far Gone” is a mirror of Luke 15’s prodigal son — a child who ran, rebelled, and returned, only to be met by a Father who sprinted toward him with joy. Lines like “If you need proof, take a look at these scars and know I love you” echo Romans 8:38–39 — nothing can separate us from the love of God. Not sin. Not shame. Not distance. Not doubt.

This is more than a song; it’s a rescue story set to music. It’s the sound of chains hitting the floor, of light breaking into the darkest corner.

Mercy isn’t circling the block waiting for you to get it together — it’s already at your feet. The Father has run the whole way to meet you, and He’s not slowing down. So lift your head, drop the shame, and walk into the arms that have been open since before you fell.
