Building 429 – Fear No More ~ Breakthrough Anthem

Some breakthroughs don’t come when the storm ends—they come when you decide to trust God in the middle of it. Fear No More was born in one of those seasons for Building 429’s Jason Roy. As he began writing new material, people close to him were facing battles that didn’t make sense—cancer diagnoses, broken relationships, deep loss. The song became a way of saying, “This isn’t what I’d choose, but it’s where I’m finding You.”

From its first verse, Fear No More admits the reality of fear but refuses to bow to it. Jason has said the writing process itself was an act of breaking chains—ignoring the “rules” of what a radio single should sound like, adding slide guitar, layering a 40-person choir, and even throwing in a key change. Every creative choice was a declaration: I’m not going to let fear dictate the outcome.

I’ve walked through my own seasons where fear felt like the loudest voice in the room. But the truth is, fear loses its grip when you remember Isaiah 41:10: “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” That’s not a suggestion—it’s a promise.

What makes this song a true breakthrough anthem is that it doesn’t pretend the hard things aren’t happening. It stares them down and says, “Even here, I will trust You.” It’s the same spirit as Psalm 56:3–4: “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you… in God I trust and am not afraid.”

If you’ve been waiting for fear to disappear before you move forward, this is your call to stop waiting. Step out while your knees are still shaking. Sing while the storm is still raging. Because the One who holds you is greater than the fear that’s chasing you—and now is the time to live like you believe it.
